Who is eligible for SPARK? Students who identify as female who are entering 7th-10th grade in Fall of 2023. What are the important dates and deadlines? SPARK has three separate week-long sessions. The dates are: Week 1: July 7th - July 12th, 2024 Week 2: July 14th - July 19th, 2024 Week 3: July 21st - July 26th, 2024 Applications will open January 30th, 2024. When will I hear back on the status of my child’s application? You will receive a response about the status of your application by the middle of June, 2023. Is there financial support for SPARK? Yes, we offer partial and full scholarships based on need and on a first come first serve basis. How do I request financial aid? On our application, there is a question where you can request the level of assistance your family would need in order to attend the program. Is SPARK a sleepaway camp? Yes, SPARK is an overnight residential program located at the UCONN Storrs campus. Can I visit my student/child during the camp? Other than designated pick-up and drop-off times, parents can not visit in-person during the program except in cases of emergency. What do the dorms look like? Busby Suites. There will only be two students per bedroom during camp. NOT the triple arrangement that is listed on the ResLife website. Will there be air conditioning? Yes! The housing accommodations for SPARK 2023 will have air conditioning. What do arrival and pick-up look like? Students move-in on Sunday afternoons and are picked up from SPARK on Friday evenings.
