Who We Are?

The da Vinci Project has been designed:

  • To help math and science teachers (grades 5-12), guidance counselors, and district administrators learn more about the wide variety of engineering disciplines and opportunities available to their students having science and or math aptitude.
  • Get out the word that engineering schools attract many students showing more interest in hands-on learning and practical ways to use science and math.
  • Develop a curriculum that integrates elemental engineering into the classroom.

During the program, up to 50 participants will spend an exciting week at the Storrs campus learning engineering fundamentals and developing practical curricula and exercises that will help them expose students to engineering. Participants will select one from 10 areas of engineering specialization for an intensive 5-day program, including presentations and demonstrations.

Faculty members from the School of Engineering at UConn will present core concepts and hands-on instruction in Biomedical, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical & Computer, Civil & Environmental, Computer Science, and Materials Science & Engineering.
