Congratulations on your acceptance! We are thrilled to welcome you to the BRIDGE family at the University of Connecticut. This journey marks the beginning of an exciting and transformative experience, where you’ll connect with fellow students, explore the vast world of engineering, and get a head start on your academic journey.
We’ve created this page to provide you with all the essential information you need as you prepare to join us. Important dates, program schedules and guidelines, are all here. Remember to regularly check your email for updates and further communications from us.

Email Communication
Stay updated by checking your emails regularly. Important communications about BRIDGE will come from either engr-bridge@uconn.edu or durga.nyame@uconn.edu.Keep an eye out for these emails as they contain essential information about the program.
Move-in
Move-in day is on June 30th, 2024. Check-in at the residence hall is between 8:00am – 12:00pm. Check your email for details on check-in, logistics, and the map of campus. Check-in times are scheduled by last name (see times below). If these times don’t work for you, email us for accommodation. For early or late arrivals, contact engr-bridge@uconn.edu.
Before BRIDGE
Forms and Surveys
Please complete the acceptance packet as soon as possible. Also, fill out the pre-program survey (button(s) below) by June 17, 2024. Your responses are crucial for us to tailor the BRIDGE experience to your needs.
Items to Bring
This is a list of items you should bring with you to the program.
The dorms unfortunately do not have air conditioning, so please bring a fan. If you require an air conditioner for medical reasons, please register on CSD and email engr-bridge@uconn.edu to let us know.
BRIDGE Welcome/Opening Ceremony
Join us for the BRIDGE 2024 parent/guardian and student Opening Ceremony on June 23rd, 2024 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm! If you can’t attend, please email engr-bridge@uconn.edu.
Industry Tours
For industry tours, dress in business casual attire (below are some examples). While suits or blazers aren’t necessary in the summer, avoid short pants or skirts. Remember, all hairstyles are professional – wear your hair as you like. Comfortable closed-toe shoes are a must. Bring your passport or a state-issued ID AND social security card for these tours.
