SPARK Program 2025

Empowering the Next Generation of Women Engineers

Eligibility

Must be a current 6th – 9th grade female-identifying student during The school year.

Applicants who are not in the grade range but are interested in the program are encouraged to apply to be placed on the waiting list.

Cost

$995 per week for residential students 
$695 per week for day campers

*We highly encourage campers to stay with us in the dorms so that we can build community*

Week 1 - FLASH!

Flash - Week 1

July 7th – July 12th

Learn the magic of animation & special effects that goes behind the sciences of many films!

Focus: Computer Science Engineering,  Chemical Engineering

Weekly Highlights

  • Monday: Craft movie sound effects with Earsketch.
  • Tuesday: Create 2D animations merging art and AI.
  • Wednesday: Learn coding with Scratch to animate movements.
  • Thursday: Solve mysteries using logic and decision trees.
  • Friday: Combine skills to produce a unique movie project.

Outcome: Discover how science and technology bring magic to filmmaking!

Splash - Week 2

July 14th – July 19th

Join us to use STEM skills to design solutions to navigate climate change, search and rescue, and make an impact. This Week Is Sponsored By A Grant From The NAVY (Thanks, Dr. Lexi Hain!), And Has Several Financial Aid Fellowships Available!

Focus: Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Material Science, Aquatic Science

Weekly Highlights

  • Monday: Discover underwater light and sound science to find Nemo.
  • Tuesday: Explore sonar technology while searching for Dory.
  • Wednesday: Design and build boats with innovative materials.
  • Thursday: Test your boats in different water environments.
  • Friday: Apply filtration techniques to clean up the ocean

Outcome: Gain hands-on STEM experience while making a real-world impact!

Kapow - Week 3

July 21st – July 26th

Explore The Action World Of Famous Female Super Heroes & How They Keep Theirs Worlds Safe And Up To Code

Focus: Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering

Weekly Highlights

  • Monday: Test your superhero strength using physics and force sensors.
  • Tuesday: Learn structural stability by designing superhero buildings and bridges.
  • Wednesday: Experiment with creating “webbing” using innovative materials.
  • Thursday: Engineer webs and structures for strength and integrity.
  • Friday: Dive into forensics and help superheroes solve crimes with science and analysis.

Outcome: Combine engineering and problem-solving to bring superhero feats to life!
