Application and Prerequisites
The Belimo Engineering Scholarship is designed to enhance accessibility to higher education for underrepresented students within UConn’s Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering programs, by alleviating the financial constraints that may impede their pursuits and giving them access to a robust professional experience. This distinguished scholarship, totaling $10,000 annually, will be disbursed in two equal installments of $5,000 each, ensuring sustained support throughout the three years (sophomore, junior, senior) after being awarded the scholarship. The program will also provide a competitive internship opportunity at Belimo which will provide awardees with a rich professional experience. A prerequisite for scholarship continuity involves the maintenance of good academic standing while also being in the College of Engineering, therefore underscoring the program’s commitment to fostering both educational excellence and financial support. Additionally students must be permanent in-state residents of Connecticut and either have overcome obstacles such as socioeconomic disadvantage; or are members of groups that are underrepresented at UConn School of Engineering to apply.
